EEG Safety

Many have asked us about the safety of wearing a Bluetooth EEG headset.

We can assure you that it is 100% safe.

The Electroencephalograph (EEG) has been used since 1875 to detect brain activity. It is simply a brain ‘reader’ and puts no signals into the brain. In this way it has no electromagnetic output and is safer than a normal fixed line telephone or even a TV set.

Connection from the headset to the computer is via Bluetooth which is around 1000 times less output than a mobile phone. We purposely use Bluetooth as it stops our headsets being ‘wired’ to the computer. In the extremely rare event of a lightening strike there are no wires connected to the individual.

While used mainly in medical diagnostics, we are the first in the world to use it for brain education.
